Meet the Team
Paul Haley, CEO
As a British native, Paul earned a law degree from the University of Wales and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, and went on to work in audit, investigations, acquisitions, and mergers. Before relocating to California, Paul was CFO and an owner for Yorkshire Food Group, a high-growth food manufacturing and distribution group with international operations, and sales to countries on every continent. He took the company public in 1993.
Paul is a veteran consultant and adviser for owners and officers of all forms of business entities including early-stage start-ups, management buy-ins, buy-outs, venture capital through public offerings, as well as for late-stage reorganizations and workouts. He has direct experience as an owner-manager and consultant with California agriculture, wine exports, and the restaurant business.
Jill Osur, President
As a former collegiate scholarship softball player at the University of California at Berkeley, Jill has been able to utilize her competitive nature to become a successful entrepreneur. Jill spent her early career in political fundraising before committing fourteen years to the non-profit sector with Special Olympics Northern California & Nevada. Jill secured and helped raise over $150 million dollars through strategic cause marketing, corporate partnerships, and individual donations. Jill has launched over ten start-ups as well as founding VS Beverages, a socially conscious wine and spirits company that supports our nation’s veterans, now owned by GoldLine Brands.
Jill currently sits on the board for the John F. Kennedy University Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership. In 2012 she received the Bronze Stevie Award for Female Executive of the Year in Consumer Products for Up to 2500 Employees.
Mica Raas, VP Production & Winemaking
Born and raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Mica has an intimate knowledge of the terroir and range of micro-climates that the area has to offer. Mica believes that winemaking is very much an art, and that true perfection in winemaking can only be obtained by careful management of “microbial chaos.” His studies garnered him a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Environmental Studies, a minor in Botany, and a Wine & Viticulture associates degree.
He started his career as a geologist before following his passion from the soil to the vine, working in vineyards and wineries in the Russian River Valley, Napa Valley, and Lodi. He returned to make wine in Santa Cruz at his own winery, Myka Cellars.
Mark Wooldridge, VP Hospitality & Operations
Mark is a seasoned professional in the beverage and restaurant space, having served as consultant, investor, and owner of multiple restaurants throughout his career. His skills in the foodservice industry include brand development, financial strategies, and human resource management. A graduate from Tulane in Business Administration & Management Science, some of Mark’s impressive accomplishments have come as a Director of Operations for the E&O Development Company, where he utilized financial and human resources to increase profit year over year. Mark has been part of the creation of several multi-million dollar restaurant concepts, and has consulted for 1,400 clients in the industry.
Rick Delamain, VP National Sales
Rick brings over 20 years of hospitality, culinary, and beverage experience to the GoldLine Team. Rick founded and was the Managing Partner of Cypress Restaurant Group in Walnut Creek where he conceptualized, designed and operated this upscale 125-seat establishment. Prior to that Rick spent five years with a regional restaurant group as their National Beverage Buyer and Operations Director. He has opened markets in the UK, Denmark, Sweden and most recently China. Rick’s operations background along with his exceptional knowledge of and palate for wines from around the world make him key in GoldLine’s burgeoning export program.
Taylor Gibson, Assistant Winemaker
Back when Myka Cellars was still a one man show and Mica had all the time in the world to teach, Taylor wanted to learn. They joined forces for the 2011 harvest and formed a complementary team that exists to this day. He started learning the ropes in vineyards throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains and found his true passion in winemaking. After a fifteen-month excursion throughout Europe, building his Old World wine knowledge, he found his way back to the GoldLine Brands team.
Jacob Blevins, Winery Operations Manager
Jacob found his passion for wine after working the vineyards in the Otago region of New Zealand. Having studied Recreation Management at East Tennessee State, he brings a diverse background which includes more than 10 years in hospitality. Jacob first joined GoldLine as a member of the vineyard crew, planting our principal vines in the Sierra Foothills. Jacob was then part of the founding team at the 1850 Tasting Room, and now manages the day-to-day operations at the winery.
Jennifer Edwards, Director of Creative Services
Jennifer comes to GoldLine Brands with over 25 years of marketing and graphic design experience. Working across multiple industries including consumer retail products and web-design, Jennifer develops and delivers our brand logos, advertisements, point of sale materials, and web-based marketing campaigns. Jennifer is also our "Director of Fun," making sure that our team gets the most out of working in California's beautiful wine country.
Carolyn Hoffman, 1850 Tasting Room & Wine Club Manager
With both hospitality and winery experience which compliments her degree from the renowned Le Cordon Bleu California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Carolyn brings a unique experience to visitors in our Tasting Room. Having grown up in Calaveras County, Carolyn brings a breadth of knowledge of the Sierra Foothill region and of Sutter Creek where the 1850 Wine Cellars Tasting Room resides. In addition to her duties as Tasting Room Manager, Carolyn runs the Wine Club and plans events.
Philip Maluso, Area Sales Manager
Philip comes to us by way of Pasadena, CA where he had acquired over 13 years of beverage industry experience. He has served in various aspects of the industry from purchasing and event coordinating to employee management and sales. Most recently, he served as an area sales manager for a beverage distributor in LA County. Today he is known as our guy-on-the-road, bringing the GoldLine wines to your favorite restaurants and wine shops.
Samantha Rice, 1850 Tasting Room Associate
Having grown up on a 40-acre ranch in Somerset, Samantha brings firsthand knowledge of the Sierra Foothills to our team. Working in catering and later at multiple well-known wineries such as Spenetta, Deaver, and Charles Mitchell (with whom she later opened Winery by the Creek), she has become a master of the area. She most recently worked at Villa Toscano & Bella Piaza before joining the Mediterranean Vineyards team as Wine Club Manager.
Guy Franzi, 1850 Tasting Room Associate
Guy (pronounced ghee) grew up in the rural coastal communities of Marin County California, a self-proclaimed cowboy, he learned meat cutting at an early age, be coming a journeymen butcher at the age of 16. The grocery business provided him the ability to go to school and with this knowledge and sound grocery background, he became vice president general manager of the Bay Area’s premier food retailer, Petrini Enterprises. His two greatest passions are soccer and wine. He has been a integral part 1850’s Tasting Room since day one.
Sierra, Official Wine Dog
Sierra is GoldLine's fluffiest teammate. Named after the Sierra Foothills region, our golden-doodle loves playing catch, car rides, and coming along for wine tastings. Follow her journey as she grows up: Sierra the Wine Dog.
